Hi! I am a native Mandarin speaker with over 10 years' teaching experience. In addition to a BA degree in linguistics, obtained in Canada, I also hold a Chinese Teacher Training Certificate as well as TESOL Certificate, which allows me to be more sensitive in dealing with language structures and second language acquisition. I am familiar with both Pinyin and Bopomofo, and can teach either traditional or simplified Chinese characters. I have great passion for languages. Besides English and Mandarin, I also speak fluent Cantonese, Taiwanese, and Intermediate Japanese. I teach both adults and young children. My teaching methods include a variety of role-playing, interviews, songs, discussion, art activities, etc. Lessons are designed to meet students' needs. Therefore, they vary from one student/class to another. However, interactive techniques are always incorporated to enhance students' learning and communication. I believe that building a fun, meaningful learning environment is crucial to language/culture learning.
